The Sony KLV-S23A10 may be a little on the small side for a home theater set-up, but it's the ideal size for a small living room, or a bedroom or kitchen. And it ticks all the right HDTV boxes too. As well as a 16:9 widescreen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, this gorgeous looking HDTV has two 5-Watt speakers and onboard SRS TruSurround audio processing which simulates cinematic surround sound.

The Sony KLV-S23A10 is compatible with 480i and 480p enhanced definition as well as 720p and 1080i HDTV signals. It also has Sony's CineMotion 3:2 pulldown technology. This corrects the distortion which occurs when 24 frames-per-second movies are digitally mastered for 30 frames-per-second video. It allows you to watch progressive scan movies as they were intended to be seen.

Like most good LCD TVs, the Sony KLV-S23A10 has a host of technologies built-in, to improve picture quality. These include a Dynamic Picture Processor which maintains detail in very bright and very dark areas of an image and a 3D Y/C comb filter which, in plain English, is a gizmo that removes blurred edges between colors and reduces the instances of those annoying tiny moving dots that you see along lines where contrasting colours meet, such as on a striped T-shirt.

As you would expect, the Sony KLV-S23A10 has a host of connection interfaces including HDMI, the latest standard for connecting high definition equipment which carries both digital video and digital audio in one cable. Other connection interfaces are: component video, S-Video, composite video, VGA, and a RF coaxial input.

This HDTV comes with a remote control, two batteries, an RF coaxial cable, VGA cable, AC adaptor and power cord, and a table-top pedestal.
