This Samsung 23" LCD HDTV, the LN-S2341W, which can be ordered via Amazon for under $600, is something of a bargain. Unusually for a 23" LCD HDTV, this Samsung has HDMI, VGA, and two component inputs. It also has room for an RF input for connecting an antenna for those over the air HDTV channels, and a couple of composite connectors to hook up a camcorder or older games console.

The 1366 x 768 pixel screen can display 720p HDTV signals at their native resolution and downscale 1080i/p signals. The Samsung 23" LCD HDTV LN-S2341W boasts an impressive 3000:1 contrast ratio, 500cd/m2 brightness, and 8ms response time. The 3 Watt stereo speakers won't exactly blow the doors off, but if like us, you prefer to hook your HDTV up to an external amplifier or receiver, that won’t be a problem.

Of course, one of the key considerations for any HDTV is how it looks, and the Samsung certainly doesn't let itself down in that department. Its (nearly) all-black case may not be to everyone's taste, but coupled with its oval stand, it looks pretty good to us.
