DirecTV HD tuners allow you to watch HDTV content via DirecTV satellite. The company has a number of options available to allow you to choose the HD channels you want to view with one of its DirecTV HD tuners.

Want to record HDTV?

DirecTV HD with TiVo allows you to record up to 30 hours of HDTV content or 200 hours of SDTV content on a TiVo hard drive.

The latest DirecTV DVR, the HR-10 250 has HDMI and component video interfaces and optical audio output to allow you to connect to your HD-ready TV and achieve the highest quality of both video and audio. In addition to its 250GB hard drive, it has 2 satellite and 2 ATSC tuners and a 30 minute buffer which allows you to pause live TV.

The HR-10 250 can be acquired by new customers as part of a DirecTV new customer deal, or can be bought by existing customers for $699.

By combining HDTV with TiVo, this lates of DirecTV HD tuners combines the best of both worlds allowing you to watch HDTV and record it with TiVo's legendary ease of use and menu driven interface.

DirecTV's current line-up of HD channels includes ESPN HD, Universal HD, Discovery HD Theater, HDNet, and HDNet Movies.

Until July 31 2005, DirecTV is offering 3 months of HDTV free when you sign up for twelve months to one of its plans. It is also offering its HD TiVo DVR installed in four rooms for $299.

And if you're a former Voom customer, it's also offering a $200 mail-in rebate when you get on of its DirecTV HD tuners, either the straight tuner or the DVR.
